Songs in commercials.

I find many commercials annoying however one technique that i think helps catches someones attention is incorporating a catchy song somewhere in the commercial. I hate the education connection commercials however the song is always stuck in my head after i see it on tv. Wether you like the commercial or not if there is a catchy song somewhere in it you find yourself singing it later on. Two advertisements that came out during the Superbowl had actual songs in them which help make the commercial more of a hit if you ask me. One was the m&m commercial that had the song "sexy and i know it" in it and the other was the chevy commercial with the song "we are young". Every time these commercials come on tv these songs draw you into the commercial and later you start to associate the songs with the products without realizing it.

  1. This is so true i hate the education connection commercials. Those ones annoy the most out of any commercial on tv but your right i sing that song sometimes without even realizing it. I do associate the songs to these certain products I now could tell you what the education connection is all about just by that song with is catchy but highly annoying.

  2. I agree that this is a great form of advertising because if you can catch your viewers attention then you have them listening to your commercial. I am personally not a huge TV watcher however I like to keep it on most of the time just for background sound and a lot of the time I find myself tuning into commercials with catchy songs rather than the show that I had turned on.

  3. I could not agree more-- I cannot stand those education connection commercials. Get connected for free...at education connection...its just soo tacky. However, I would also agree that a catchy song can be key to the success of a commercial...I personally love the Nike "I would run to you" commercial. I also do like the M&M "I'm sexy and I know it" commercial as well. Those songs are fitting and appropriate to the commercial.

  4. songs are so catchy and get stuck in your head. Thats what all advertisers what in for their product or service. It gets you to remember and hopefully purchase their product. It does exactly what the goal is and its results are undeniable
